Cleveland Firefighter Kevin McCarthy, who was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter two weeks ago after calling police to tell them he accidentally shot his roommate, appeared in Willoughby Municipal Court on Thursday.
Police say it was shortly after 10 p.m. on April 14 when Willoughby dispatch received McCarthy’s call about the shooting, which happened at the Willogrove Apartments in the 37300 block of Grove Avenue, according to WKYC Channel 3.
McCarthy was found outside of the building and detained while additional officers searched the apartment and found 25-year-old Christian Kilburg dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
